My husband and I recently completed the Pandaw cruise from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Minh city. The crew were all lovely and attentive, however, we and several others on the same cruise, thought that it was far too expensive for what we got. The food was good, but not really reflective of local cuisines, the day trips were very limited, a few hours on about 4 days, and geared towards handing out to favoured places and telling us not to give money at other non favoured places. 1 day's changed events were to a tour of the boat! Ridiculous when you could do this any time, and we'd have preferred to actually be taken to shore to look around the town. We did the same tour of kilns, ricepaper making, etc, they were good and it would have been great to have more of this sort of thing. Overall, we're telling other friends who want to do the trip to save their money and once in Asia, do some day trips where you'd get to see and do more at much better prices! Once you are in any of the main towns on the Mekong it seems they all had links to shorter and cheaper cruises.

HOWEVER, please note that Cai Be Princess, Song Xanh, Mekong Eyes or Bassac are all small boats to do excursions in a small area of operation. The operators would offer you 1 night or 2 nights in Can Tho or Cai Be in Vietnam only

The Pandaw is good. However, this day we introduce a new product: the Jahan Cruise

  • Number of cabins: 26
  • Standard: 4 star
  • Port of call : Saigon - Can Tho- Chau Doc- Phnom Penh- Siem Reap
